Our Story 

Social Nexus didn't start in a boardroom: It started over the dinner table through a conversation about making meaningful change.

As a young advocate for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, our founder spent time speaking at conferences alongside headteachers, SENCOs, and education leaders, listening to the frustrations of people working tirelessly to support some of the most vulnerable children in our communities. The message was consistent, and it was stark: the funding isn't there, the support isn't there, and despite everyone's best efforts, meaningful change feels impossibly out of reach.

But it wasn't just a funding problem. It was a connection problem.

Across the same communities where schools were struggling to afford basic specialist support, local businesses were quietly donating thousands of pounds every year to dozens of different causes, spread thin, with no strategy and no way of knowing whether any of it was making a difference. The money existed. The need existed. The two just weren't meeting in the right way.

That gap is why Social Nexus exists.

We believe that businesses in our communities have the power to create real, lasting change, not by giving more, but by giving better. By taking the budget that's already there and pointing it with precision at the causes that need it most. By building partnerships between companies and charities that are structured, sustained, and built to deliver outcomes rather than just good intentions.

We've seen what happens when a cause goes unfunded. We've sat in the rooms where headteachers describe turning away children who need support because the money simply isn't there. We've heard the stories of families who fall through the gaps because no single organisation has the resource to catch them.

We started Social Nexus because we couldn't keep watching that happen when the solution was sitting right there.
